In Germany, a poster is the description for decorative prints, which mostly hang on the wall without a frame, like a placard. Unlike placards, posters do not serve to provide the public with information. In English there is no real difference between a poster and a placard. Arising as a consequence of Pop Art, print products are today to be found in every form and with all sorts of content, such as exclusive art prints.
